The auxiliary power outlet is serviced by removing the 12-volt battery as a first step. Next, take out the console trim insert and the electrical connector to take out the cigarette lighter. These steps can be uninstalled by reversing them.

How to Service and Repair a Cigarette Lighter Auxiliary Power Outlet on Ford Escape?

In order to change the auxiliary cigarette lighter, unscrew its cover (where it is situated). Take a Cigarette Lighter Socket Remover and fit it into one slot socket and then push the other slot and then pull the socket out of the socket retainer and disconnect the electrical connector. Connect the connector again and push the socket back in.
