How to Service the A/C Accumulator on Ford Escort?

The service procedure for accumulator HVAC starts with performing the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. The first step removes power steering pump reservoir screws to reposition it followed by disconnecting the A/C manifold and tube spring lock coupling then using plugs to prevent dirt and moisture contamination. The procedure requires one to disconnect the suction line spring lock coupling and cover all ports to stop contamination from occurring. The first step should include disconnecting both electrical connectors which control the speed control servo and the A/C cycling switch. Detach the speed control servo bracket's bolt and nut before unthreading the accumulator bracket assembly nut. First loosen the nut to detach the A/C accumulator bracket after which extract the A/C cycling switch. Service the new suction accumulator with PAG Compressor Oil YN-12-C or an equivalent that meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B according to the installation procedure which is the reverse of removal.
