  A: The service and repair of the hood cable requires starting with Hood Latch removal followed by detaching the hood control handle and cable from the instrument panel steering column cover after loosening the nut. To begin you should remove the front fender splash shield through removal of pin-type retainers and screws. Cut the clips maintaining hood control handle and cable sections before mounting an adequate cable wire length on the hood latch termination point. Inside the passenger area remove both the hood control handle along with its cable. The hood latch end requires the wire attachment before pulling the new hood control handle and cable into its designated position. Set the hood control handle and its cable into their proper positions on the instrument panel steering column cover before fastening it using the nut. Finish the installation by placing hood control cable clips then putting back the front fender splash shield prior to hood latch installation.
