How to service the windshield wiper switch on Ford Escort?

The process of servicing the wiper switch starts with disconnecting the battery ground cable along with waiting for one minute to allow the air bag back up power supply to empty. The windscreen wiper and washer switch needs access after first doing away with screws found on the steering column shroud parts (upper and lower sections) and additional mounting hardware. Disengage the electrical connections at (A) before dismantling the wiper switch marked as (B). The installation procedure involves reversing all steps of removal but disconnecting and reconnecting the battery generates temporary drive abnormalities that require driving a minimum of 16 km (10 miles) to adjust the adaptive strategy correctly.
