    A: The first requirement in servicing or repairing the camshaft involves ensuring safety by keeping all flammable mixture-containing fuel components distant from open fires and cigarettes. First detach the battery ground cable and then remove the Intake Manifold followed by the timing drive components. A Valve Spring Compressor allows the user to reduce the valve spring tension before taking off the camshaft roller followers. Correctly marking the bearing caps for original placement will help stop engine malfunctions. First, follow the steps of removing bolts then camshaft bearing caps and finally extract the camshaft from the cylinder block. Before inserting the camshaft apply Super Premium SAE5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G conforming equivalent oil to the camshaft journals. Place the camshaft with bearing caps onto the cylinder head then loosely place fifteen bolts before torquing them according to the specified sequence. Repeat the usage of the Valve Spring Compressor to compress valve springs before installing camshaft roller followers. As the final step reinstall all the components starting with timing drive elements before fitting the intake manifold and reconnecting the battery ground cable.
