How to service and repair the headlamp dimmer switch and steering column multifunction switch on Ford Expedition?

Start service and repair of the headlamp dimmer switch and steering column multifunction switch by unfastening the three screws that release the top retaining clips and by removing the lower steering column opening cover. The upper and lower steering column shrouds require three screws for removal before disconnection of the power tilt switch electrical connector takes place. Users of manual tilting vehicles should first free up the gear selector cover using the tabs to move it away from steering column shrouds and then remove three screws and upper and lower steering column shrouds. The following step requires disconnecting the multifunction switch electrical connector followed by removal of two screws to detach the multifunction switch. It should be tightened to 1 Nm (9 lb-inch) torque during installation. Rephrase the instructions for vehicle reinstallation after completing removal steps.
