How to Service and Repair the Shift Cable on Ford Explorer?

In order to reconnect the selector lever cable, one has to hoist the vehicle in Drive position, take off the steering column shroud and disconnect the shift cable. Install the new cable, reconnect and fix the bracket. Test Park, Neutral, and Reverse and adjust the gearshift lever, tighten bolts, and make everything work.
