How to service and repair the alternator on Ford Explorer Sport?

You must start the alternator servicing and repair work by disconnecting the battery. The first step requires both the air cleaner outlet tube and drive belt removal. Cut the wire connection between the voltage regulator connector and disconnect the B+ terminal cover and its electrical connector. First detach the B+ terminal nut before unclipping the B+ terminal electrical connector. Take out the wiring harness-to-generator pin-type retainer before you can remove the generator by removing its stud bolts and nut. Follow the opposite order of removal steps to install the part.
