How to service and repair the hood latch on Ford Explorer Sport?

In order to service the hood latch, take off the radiator grille sight shield and the bolts followed by the detachment of the hood latch by un-snapping the cable conduit and latch cable. Install again by attaching the latch and making it fit into the striker. Apply a lubricant as needed, and replace the sight shield.
