How to service and repair the steering angle sensor on Ford Explorer?

Service and repair operations for the steering angle sensor start with removing the lower steering column cover together with its bolts and the three lower steering column cover bolts. Starting with the next step remove the upper steering column cover. Separate the electrical connector from the steering wheel rotation sensor before using the screwdriver to remove its two mounting screws. After that you can remove the sensor from its position. Return all steps of the sensor installation when working on the new sensor.
