How to Service and Repair an EGR Valve on Ford F-150?

Service of the EGR valve begins with removing the accelerator control splash shield followed by removing the nut then placing the bracket to the side. Start the EGR valve service by disconnecting the vacuum line and upper tube fitting followed by removing the two bolts which allows removal of the EGR valve while discarding its gasket. During installation it is important to thoroughly clean both sealing surfaces before adding a new gasket since the EGR valve uses soft metallic sealing surfaces. Tighten the EGR valve bolts at two stages by starting with 20 Nm (15 Lb-Ft) torque and completing with an extra 90-degree turn. Begin by connecting the EGR valve tube followed by attaching the vacuum line and afterwards returning the bracket into place before tightening the nut. Replace the accelerator control splash shield by securing it with the bolts.
