Ford F-150 Heritage Headlight Bulb Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service the Headlight Bulb on Ford F-150 Heritage?
A: Begin servicing the headlamp bulb only after turning both headlamp and ignition switches to OFF to separate the headlamp assembly from the vehicle. The headlamp retainers can be raised by forward pressure followed by upward pull while disconnecting the electrical connector from the headlamp. You must begin by taking out the headlamp assembly before you proceed to turn the headlamp bulb retainer counterclockwise to separate it from the unit and then take out the headlamp bulb. The new bulb should only be handled by its base while installing it because halogen bulbs contain air pressure under which the glass envelope becomes fragile. Remove the headlamp bulb only right before mounting operations to defend against contamination-induced alteration of performance. The headlamp assembly requires proper positioning by inserting the alignment pins into matching holes on the ribs of the reinforcement area. When installing the system complete the removal sequence in reverse order followed by holding necessary adjustments of the headlamps.
