How to service the thermostat on Ford F-150?

To maintain the thermostat, dehumidify the cooling system partially, disconnect the upper radiator hose and also dehumidify the water outlet by removing the bolts. Installing a new O-ring will require a replacement of the thermostat and the O-ring seal and re-installing of both. Lastly, re-attach the hose and fill the cooling system.
