How to service the thermostat on Ford Freestar?

To service the thermostat, drain the cooling system, take out the air cleaner outlet tube and disconnect the upper radiator hose. Unscrew the thermostat housing bolts and get rid of the gasket. Fit the new housing, screwing bolts on two occasions. Write on the vent pin and remove, and then repeat the process and replenish the cooling system.
