To service crankshaft, measure main bearing journal diameters in 2 directions, a taper, and out of round. Take out the bearing caps, check the clearance with Plastigage(R), and check the end play with a Dial Indicator Gauge. Lastly, measure check runout with the crankshaft in rotation.
