Start the hood latch service and repair process by taking off six pin-type retainers and the upper radiator sight shield and front bumper cover. You should note down the position of the hood latch before moving on to help reinstall it properly. The service and repair of the hood latch begins with removing the two bolts before securing them to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) during assembly. First detach the hood latch release cable before taking away the hood latch. Finish the installation by performing the reverse steps of removal followed by hood latch engagement adjustment then apply lubrication to the hood latch.
