How to service the PCV Valve on the 4.0L SOHC or 5.4L 4V engine on Ford Mustang?

The first step for servicing the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve of the 4.0L SOHC or 5.4L 4V engine starts with removing the battery ground cable. Safely disconnect two components associated with the PCV valve quick connect coupling while removing the tube from the valve and disconnecting the electrical connector from the valve. The removal of an old PCV valve requires a replacement valve since the plastic retaining ears break when removing. After rotating the PCV valve counterclockwise you should remove it from its position in the valve cover before discarding the old valve. The installation process ends with a new PCV valve by following an opposite order of the removal steps.
