Lincoln Aviator Exhaust Manifold Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the right-hand exhaust manifold on Lincoln Aviator?
A: The service process for the right-hand exhaust manifold starts with setting the vehicle on a hoist with neutral transmission. First remove the right front wheel together with the tire and proceed to take out the right front inner fender well. Discard the two exhaust Y-pipe nuts from their mounting position to separate the Y-pipe but maintain 20 Nm torque when reinstalling them. The first task involves disconnecting the EGR system module tube from the exhaust manifold before extracting the heat shield by removing its three bolt connections and tightening each bolt to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.) during replacement. First strip all eight exhaust manifold nuts before taking out the old manifold while discarding the gasket. The installation requires users to apply a new exhaust manifold gasket before tightening the manifold nuts to a torque of 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Perform the reverse procedure to finish the installation work.
