Lincoln Blackwood Starter Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the starter motor on Lincoln Blackwood?
A: The starter motor service process starts by disconnecting the battery ground cable and performing vehicle lifting while turning off the air suspension switch positioned in the right-hand kick panel to avoid unwanted air spring changes. Begin by removing the terminal cover from the solenoid then disconnect all starter motor electrical connectors using two bolts and the solenoid wire and battery cable. Begin by taking off the starter motor ground cable together with its nut then separate the three bolts that secure the starter motor until you can remove the starter motor from the vehicle. When replacing the starter motor users must fasten it into position using the three bolts. Reconnect the cable followed by setting up the motor nut then properly position the starter motor electrical connections by installing the starter solenoid wire and battery cable. The process ends by putting the cover of the starter solenoid terminal on before reconnecting the battery ground wire and finally lowering the vehicle. The air suspension system needs activation with the air suspension switch turned on when present on your vehicle.
