    A: Svc of the water pump begins with removal of the engine cooling fan along with fan shroud and then moving onto the Drive Belt. The first step involves removing bolts on the water pump pulley before proceeding with the bolts that support the water pump itself. A smooth cloth should be used to clean the water pump mounting surface. When installing the water pump housing into the engine keep it from rotating because it damages the O-ring seal and leads to water leaks. Add a new O-ring seal to the application after lubricating it with Premium Engine Coolant E2FZ-19549-AA, F5FZ-19549-CC in Oregon and CXC-10 in Canada or any equivalent fluid that holds Ford standards ESE-M97B44-A (green color) or Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant VC-7-A meeting WSS-M97BSl-AI (yellow color). The installation process requires the same engine coolant that came from the drainage procedure. The installation process is finished by reversing all removal steps.
