How to service the left-hand (LH) exhaust manifold on Lincoln Continental?

Service of the left-hand exhaust manifold starts by recovering A/C system refrigerant and placing the vehicle on a hoist. Remove first the dual converter Y pipe from the system then loosen the bolt connecting the AC manifold to the compressor before positioning them aside. Unscrew the eight nuts from the LH exhaust manifold before pulling out the manifold assembly together with its attached LH exhaust manifold gaskets. When installing the system first apply new LH exhaust manifold gaskets before installing the LH exhaust manifold and tightening its nuts according to a particular sequence. The installation begins with reconnecting the A/C manifold and tube using the proper bolt tightening procedure after which the dual converter Y pipe needs installation. Perform the last step by lowering the vehicle while completing the A/C system recharge.
