How to Check and Maintain the PCV Valve on a Lincoln Continental?

The service process for the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve requires starting with removal of the engine appearance cover. Start by disconnecting the PCV valve from the grommet then separate the crankcase vent connector along with its hose attached to the upper intake manifold port. After disconnecting the hose from the upper intake port complete the PCV valve removal by removing it from both the hose and the crankcase vent connector. The valve needs replacing if it does not produce a rattling sound during shaking because attempting to clean it is not advisable. During installation follow the reverse order of removal while checking the engine for vacuum leakages.
