How to service and repair the driver Door Latch Assembly on Lincoln LS?

The service and repair work on driver door latches requires disconnecting the battery ground cable before carrying out activities close to the door cylinder lock rod or door latch. The service starts with removing the front door trim panel while also unfastening the lower theft shield screw. Position the theft shield by removing its attached nut before taking out the second nut and the lock cylinder. After unclipping the rod linking the exterior handle actuator you should remove the exterior door lock switch electrical connector if your vehicle has it. You should disconnect the electrical connector and take out the door latch screws. Secondly, remove the interior handle actuating cable before extracting the door latch from the vehicle. Installation demands that you follow the reverse sequence of the uninstallation steps.
