Lincoln Mark LT Power Steering Cooler Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Cooler on Lincoln Mark LT?
    A:
The service and repair of the power steering cooler begins with placing the vehicle into neutral position on a hoist. Suction up power steering fluid through the reservoir with an appropriate tool to stop contamination of power steering system parts. The power steering cooler-to-reservoir hose requires disconnecting by untightening its hose clamp. After removing the steering line clamp plate bolt, the user should rotate the plate and disconnect the power steering cooler from the steering gear before tightening the connection to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft). Detach the two power steering cooler retaining bolts followed by removing the cooler and secure the installation with 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) torque. Perform a reverse order of the removal phase then complete the service by filling the power steering system.
