How to service and repair the hood latch on Lincoln MKS?

In order to service the hood latch, first remove the radiator grille retainers and bolts and then use your hand to pull up the grille to access the latch. Note the location, loosen the bolts, and take off the release cable. Fit the latch again snapping bolts to 12 Nm and ensure alignment.
