How to service and repair the battery cables on Lincoln Town Car?

Commence battery cable service operations only when the vehicle remains in neutral position on a hoist. For the procedure disconnect the battery then remove its nut and engine cover until it reaches 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Reinstall the same components following the same torque specifications. Set aside the battery cable body ground terminal when installing it on the first step while tightening it to 12 Nm (106 lb-in). Release the two battery cable harness locators from the fenderwell after disconnecting the terminal nut and placing the battery junction box (BJB) cable terminal to the side for both steps ensure proper torque of 12 Nm (106 lb-in). Set the generator B+ terminal aside after removing the nut and fixing it with 12 Nm (106 lb-in) torque when reinstalling. Remove the nut from the battery cable engine ground terminal while setting it aside with a 12 Nm (106 lb-in) tightness until reinstallation. Free the battery cable harness locator from the bolt on the valve cover and remove the starter terminal cover from its place. The starter solenoid positive terminal can be positioned away after removing the nut then tightening the installation to 12 Nm (106 lb-in). After removing the nut which holds the starter solenoid wire terminal you can position it aside and tighten the wiring to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) at reinstallation. The removal process ends when the battery harness become free by disconnecting all three battery cable harness locators.
