How to service and repair the wheel hub and bearing on Lincoln Town Car?

The first step to service and repair both wheel hub and bearing requires vehicle elevation with support followed by wheel and tire removal. First detach the brake caliper of the front disc brake system together with the brake disc before taking off the front hub cap grease seal. Avoid reusing the front axle wheel hub retainer because it might back off causing either front wheel release or damage to the wheel hub and bearing assembly thus discard the retainer. When separating the wheel hub from the bearing users must exercise great caution to protect the ABS sensor lead together with the ABS sensor ring because the slip-fit design of the wheel hub and bearing assembly makes removal without a puller possible. The ABS sensor lead and ring must be protected during installation before the new wheel hub and bearing assembly goes in. After this setup a new front axle wheel hub retainer and a new front hub cap grease seal should be applied. After reinstalling the brake disc and front disc brake caliper, install the wheel with tire then lower the vehicle.
