Mercury Marauder Power Steering Cooler Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Steps Should Be Taken Before Servicing the Power Steering Cooler to Ensure Safety and Proper Procedure on Mercury Marauder?
    A:
The procedure for power steering cooler service requires turning off the Air Suspension electrical power to prevent sudden air spring inflation or deflation that might shift the vehicle during operations. First deactivate the air suspension service switch before pulling out the pushpins and Radiator cover shield. You should first remove the two condenser-to-radiator nuts before taking away the two bolts and brackets. The clamps need to be loosened while disconnecting hoses to capture the fluid in an appropriate receptacle. After supporting the vehicle you need to perform the clamp release and hose disconnection procedure followed by another fluid drain. Lower the vehicle after removing both the cooler-to-radiator bolts, then position the radiator back at the rear to extract the cooler and hoses. Reverse the removal process next and check and fill up the system while also performing leak checks.
