How to service and repair the Center Console Base on Mercury Mariner?

Start console repairs by pressing on the parking brake pedal and setting the manual transmission to neutral except for vehicles with automatic transmissions. All vehicles require adjusting the seats to maximum forward position followed by removing two bolts at floor console's rear and tightening them to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) upon reinstalling. Then, move the seats rearward. When working with automatic transmission vehicles take off the transmission selector lever trim ring. When servicing a vehicle with manual transmission you should loosen the gear shift boot. Take out the storage bin from the floor console and remove its surface panel. Disconnect any electrical elements when present. Turn around the steps above to reinstall the floor console by inserting its eight bolts then placing it in position.
