How to service the LH differential seals on Mercury Mariner?

Any repair to the LH differential seals would require hoisting the vehicle, removing the LH splash shield and drain the transmission fluid. Take off the LH halfshaft and seal then put in a new seal. Once more install halfshaft, remove and clean drain plug, fill up with fluid and confirm the level before starting an engine.
