How to Service the Mass Air Flow Sensor on Mercury Mountaineer?

The service of Air Flow Meter/Sensor requires disconnecting the battery ground cable and the MAF sensor electrical connector. The procedure begins with loosening the clamp on the air cleaner outlet tube. This action should be followed by removing the four bolts securing the MAF sensor before retrieving the sensor. A unit calibration exists between the MAF sensor electronics module and body making you need to service them together so avoid any contact with sensing elements located in the MAF body air flow bypass. You should undo the steps of removal to install the device.
