How to service and repair the rocker arm assembly on Mercury Sable?

To service the rocker arm assembly, the valve covers have to be removed and each position of the rocker arm has to be noted in order to fit back correctly. Disassemble the rocker arms and bolts and reassemble in the same order, except that the bolts are tightened in two steps, initially to 10 Nm, and then to 32 Nm.

How to service the rocker arm assembly on Mercury Sable?

To service rocker arm assembly, take off both left and right valve covers, and take note of the position of each of the rocker arms so as to re-fit them. Once the bolts and rocker arms have been taken off, follow the reverse procedure to reassemble, tightening the bolts in two steps; the first one to 10 Nm then 32 Nm.
