Mercury Villager Key Fob Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to program a keyless entry transmitter and Key Fob on Mercury Villager?
    A:
When programming keyless entry transmitters you should keep all vehicle doors secure and locked from inside the vehicle. The key must be injected into and withdrawn from the ignition seven times throughout a ten second period to access programming mode when the parking lamps begin to flicker. To start the programming process you should move the key to the accessory function then all current codes will be deleted. The parking lamps perform two flashes when a user hits any button on the remote transmitter during the programming process. To add new transmitter devices use the master window/door lock/unlock switch to unlock and lock the driver door before pressing any button on the new devices to receive a confirmation flash from the parking lamps. Open the driver door to complete the programming mode while receiving the exiting signal as two flash sequences from the parking lamps. The electronic door lock control systems function with their unique Transmitter Identification Code (TIC) yet the Smart Entry Control (SEC)/timer module allows four transmitter keys for programming new TICs.
