    After system installation of a new Four Wheel Anti-Lock Brake System (4WABS) Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) start brake bleeding by first cleaning the brake master cylinder filler cap then filling the reservoir with specified brake fluid. The right-hand rear bleeder screw requires a clear drain tube that should direct its outlet into a container filled to half with recommended brake fluid. An assistant should continually engage and firmly compress the brake pedal during the procedure. Slowly open the right-hand rear bleeder screw until brake fluid stream appears before tightening the screw as the assistant continues to apply pressure. The process continues until the fluid remains transparent without air bubbles then the brake master cylinder reservoir should receive additional fluid. Follow the same bleeding procedure starting with the left-hand rear then right-hand front and left-hand front bleeder screws in succession. The process for bleeding requires using the Ford Service Function Card (FSF) to access help functions on the scan tool while the cable adapter of the scan tool is connected to the dash-mounted Data Link Connector (DLC). Follow the scan tool instructions to perform the bleeding operation. Finish the bleeding process through the traditional method that was detailed before.
