Alternator

Start the alternator servicing process by removing the A/C compressor together with disconnecting the battery. After moving the generator protective cover, unfasten the nut before setting aside both the B+ terminal and nut. During reinstallation the B+ terminal needs uniform tightening to reach 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). You need to disconnect the generator electrical connector followed by the removal of three bolts which secure the generator unit. Complete the installation of replacement parts by following the reverse order of removal steps while setting bolt torque to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

Begin by disconnecting the battery.

If necessary, remove the three bolts securing the generator lower air duct, tightening it to 4 Nm (35 lb-in) upon reinstallation.

Position the generator protective cover aside, remove the nut, and set the generator B+ terminal aside.

Release the generator harness locator from the generator and disconnect the generator electrical connector. Also, release the generator harness locator from the engine block and disconnect the CKP sensor connector, positioning the generator harness aside.
