Lower Control Arm, Front Passenger Side

Before servicing the front lower control arm you must switch off the air suspension electrical power to prevent unexpected air spring movements. Set the vehicle on jacks and detach both wheel and tire assembly. Lower the air pressure before handling the seat and the spring. Remove all cabels and hardware that connect the rear parking brake cable conduit, anti-lock break sensor wiring, and their mounting clips to the front lower suspension arm. Take out the suspension arm front lower assembly by first disconnecting the bolt and nut between the arm and wheel spindle then the bolt and nut between the arm and vehicle body. When replacing the front lower suspension arm take out its rear suspension arm adjusting cam first. Reinstall the rear suspension arm adjusting cam when starting the process. Put the front lower suspension arm in the vehicle before attaching bolt and nut by hand. Secure the front lower suspension arm-to-rear wheel spindle bolt with washers then fasten the nut to specification and next the front lower suspension arm-to-body nut. Move the rear parking brake cable and sensor wires along with their routing clips to the right position. Mount both the rear air spring and seat to the vehicle before putting back on the original wheel and tire system. Pressurize the air spring until the vehicle drops down and switch on the air suspension service. Wrap up your work by setting the wheel angles in proper position.

Disconnect the air suspension height sensor from the front air suspension sensor pin.

Position the ball joint into the rear suspension arm and bushing, and install a new nut.

Take care not to allow the front wheel knuckle and front wheel driveshaft joint to move outward, as overextension can cause joint failure.
