Track Bar, Rear

Level ground maintenance work starts with sleeve protective marking of the rear shock absorber followed by marking its position in relation to the sleeve. Set the vehicle at NEUTRAL position on a hoist then support the rear axle with two jack stands instead of resting it on the differential housing area. Lift the rear axle to configure the mark on the rear shock absorber with the protective sleeve. Two screwdrivers should gently hold the Track Bar bolt cover retaining clip tabs before removing the cover. The left-hand (LH) Track Bar bolt together with its flag nut must be discarded before new parts get installed by tightening the bolt to 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs). The right-hand (RH) Track Bar bolt and flag nut must be removed before taking out the bar. Reinstall the new bolt with torque set at the same specification. The tightening procedure for both LH and RH Track Bar bolts requires performing at curb height before reinstalling the parts according to removal sequences. For proper performance maintenance together with safety standards always check that all replaced components hold identical part numbers.

When working on the lateral stabilizer rod and track bar service, begin with placing marks on the rear shock absorber near the protective sleeve when the vehicle stays flat on the ground. Place the vehicle in NEUTRAL positioning on a hoist while avoiding support at the differential housing by using two suitable jack stands under the rear axle. Lift the rear axle until the noted point on the shock absorber stands even with the protective cover. Press two screwdrivers into the access hole to push down the track bar bolt cover retaining clip tabs before taking out the cover. During installation of the new bolt for the LH track bar position, the flag nut should be torqued to 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs.). First, remove the right-hand track bar bolt along with its flag nut before taking out the track bar. The RH bolt installation should be completed by applying torque to 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs.). Maintenance professionals must adjust both LH and RH track bar bolts while the suspension rests at curb height before carrying out the reversal of removal steps.

Tighten the new bolts to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist, taking care not to support the rear axle at the differential housing to prevent damage.
