Brake Booster

The vacuum brake booster servicing process starts with taking off the wiper arm nuts followed by the wiper arms. Next, disconnect the washer hose and remove the cowl cover by pulling out pushpins along with rubber trim. First remove the vacuum hose bracket nut before setting the bracket aside then carry out the same procedure to remove the cowl brace center and end bolts and the bracket. The first step must include disconnecting the coolant reservoir return hose and taking out the brake master cylinder before removing the power brake booster check valve and cutting off any necessary electrical connector. Begin by taking out the coolant reservoir bolts then disconnect the radiator to engine vent after which you should remove the coolant reservoir. Detach first the brake pedal pin and clip then use the booster nuts to remove the power brake booster unit. After placing the power brake booster correctly you should install the booster nuts before reinserting the brake pedal pin along with its clip. The installation requires reinstalling radiator coolant recovery reservoir bolts while you connect the coolant reservoir hose along with power brake booster electrical connector (if applicable) before attaching the check valve and coolant reservoir return hose. All installation steps on the brake master cylinder and cowl brace end and center bolts must include vacuum hose bracket nut as well as the cowl cover and its rubber trim with pushpins. Finish the procedure by attaching the washer hose followed by wiper arm nut installation then perform brake system bleeding followed by observing and maintaining coolant levels when needed.

Before repairing or servicing the vacuum brake booster start by first removing the wiper arm nuts then all wiper arms and lastly disconnecting the washer hose while taking out the cowl cover through pushpins and rubber trim removal. The next step requires removal of the vacuum hose bracket nut before placing the bracket aside and completing the task by taking out the cowl brace center and end bolts. First remove the brake master cylinder then disconnect the power brake booster check valve as well as its electrical connector when present. The coolant reservoir needs to be removed by loosening its bolts while disconnecting the attached hose. Begin by taking off the brake pedal pin clip along with its pin before you loosen the power brake booster nuts and eliminate the component itself. First install the new power brake booster before fastening it with the booster nuts. Install the brake pedal pin followed by its clip then proceed to bolt the radiator coolant recovery reservoir into position and attach its hose. The installation process includes attaching the power brake booster electrical connector when present followed by joining the check valve and the coolant reservoir return hose. After placing the brake master cylinder it is necessary to bolt down the cowl brace end and center then secure the vacuum hose bracket nut. To complete the task install the wiper arm nuts and washer hose, bleed the brake system and reinstall cowl cover along with rubber trim and pushpins.

Install the brake master cylinder.
