Bumper Cover, Front

The front bumper service starts with removing both front bumper scrivets and bolts from the Five Hundred and Montego models while tightening bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) during reinstallation. The next step requires removal of three front bumper cover lower retainers along with the six front bumper cover wheel house screws which must be tightened to 2 Nm (18 lb-in) when installing. Before disconnecting the electrical connector check whether fog lamps are installed. A proper front bumper cover removal demands that you first unclip it from the fender through backward bumper cover extension. A thorough inspection should follow removal to check for any damage in the bumper cover mounting reinforcements. Replacement will be necessary if any damage is detected. The completion of installation requires the opposite sequence of bulb removal for placing the replaced parts.

Access the luggage compartment to remove the trim panel, followed by the three pin-type retainers and the six rear bumper cover nuts, which should be tightened to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) during installation.

Disconnect the electrical connector.
