The inspection process enables you to determine whether repairs on a damaged rear bumper cover are justified by its ability to reach an acceptable state of quality while comparing the expenses to those of a new bumper replacement. The affected bumper needs removal so technicians can cleanse the broken tab(s) by using a plastics wax and grease remover. The repair area must receive hand sanding with 80-grit paper followed by compressed air usage for debris removal. please use plastics adhesion promoter in accordance with the product label instructions. Obtain a piece of fiberglass cloth or equivalent material that will completely cover the tab's front portion and extend in a sloped 51 mm (2 in) wedge starting from the original tab position. Before adding the affected area apply the pre-prepared repair adhesive cloth patch by placing the plastic repair material patch to create the tab shape right away. A small angle sander should be used after the appropriate cure time to shape the repair tab. The sander operation must stop before the exterior surface is reached. To finish the procedure you must repair paint damage on the bumper cover while utilizing Ford-approved paint systems before reinstalling the bumper cover system.
