First elevate the vehicle for servicing the catalytic converter by using support tools. Start by detaching the electrical connector of the rear catalyst monitor sensor followed by sensor removal. The first step requires disconnecting the catalytic converter followed by removing its support bracket before the vehicle can be lowered. The exhaust manifold heat shield together with high-pressure line retaining clips need to be removed. The installation requires disconnecting the front catalyst monitor sensor through disconnection of its electrical connector and sensor removal. To begin disconnect both EGR tube and its bolt and the tube before moving on to disconnect the catalytic converter while discarding the nuts. Support the vehicle once more after releasing the support bracket for the catalytic converter following proper installation of supporting hardware. Pull out the catalytic converter while removing its front strap along with discarding the gaskets. Both bolts holding the rear support bracket should be loosened to provide enough space for bracket sliding. Connect the catalytic converter with new gaskets while securing the flexible pipe through another new gasket prior to tight nut installation. Install the rear catalyst monitor sensor then connect its electrical connector to it. Lower the vehicle and apply force to the nuts to secure them. Reattach the EGR tube using its tube together with the bolt and install the front catalyst monitor sensor by connecting its electrical connector. The exhaust manifold heat shield goes back into place followed by a securement of the high-pressure line. Support the vehicle again while you detach the nut after which you should install the front bracket before tightening the bolts. The lower support bracket should be moderately installed before applying new nuts and tightening all bolts when the vehicle is in its lowest position.

Loosen the rear support bracket bolts until the mating faces touch, allowing the bracket to slide. Install the new catalytic converter with a new gasket and nuts, loosely connecting it to the flexible pipe with another new gasket.
