    Q:
How to Service the Power Steering Cooler on Mercury Grand Marquis? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start power steering cooler servicing by extracting the liquid from the reservoir with a correct suction device. Begin by removing pin-type retainers followed by radiator cover shield then remove battery and its tray from the vehicle. After removing the cooling module mounting bracket bolts you should tighten them to 10 Nm (89 lb-inch) before installation ends. During the repair period maintain prevention of foreign substances entering the power steering components to prevent failure. You should loosen the metal clamps before detaching the two hoses from the cooler then clamp the hoses to stop fluid leakage. First remove the upper two pin-type retainers from both cooling module side shields on each side then take off the pin-type retainer from the power steering cooler. To perform the removal place the radiator in a rearward position while releasing the two retaining clips of the cooler. Then take out the power steering cooler. Final the installation by following the opposite steps from removal while filling your power steering system.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Cooler on Lincoln Town Car? Posted by Customer
    A:
A proper vacuum pump must be used first for removing power steering fluid from the reservoir when repairing or servicing the power steering cooler. Start by removing pin-type retainers then the radiator cover shield before taking out the battery and its tray. Follow the instruction to remove the cooling module mounting bracket bolts before installation using a torque of 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The mounting brackets must slide off the cooling module yet protective measures should be in place to prevent any foreign material access because such material could result in power steering component failure. Proceed by releasing the clamps while disconnecting the two return hoses from the cooler followed by clamping the hoses for fluid retention. Both sides of the cooling module require removal of its upper two pin-type retainers before extracting the power steering cooler pin-type retainer. Migrate the radiator to the back position and detach the two retaining clips from the cooler before extracting the power steering cooler. The power steering system filling process happens after reversing the removal steps.
