Master Cylinder

When bench bleeding brake master cylinders always use approved DOT 3 brake fluid that includes either High Performance DOT 3 brake fluid C6AZ-19542-AB or an equal fluid type that matches Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A because any other brake fluid type will cause permanent damage that makes brakes nonfunctioning. Take caution with brake fluid because eye exposure is dangerous and extensive handwashing follows use but immediate eye water flushing leads to medical attention if irritation stays. The bleeding operation requires constant reservoir filling while it is essential to never reuse drained brake fluid since it can harm painted and plastic surfaces. Place the brake master cylinder body on a soft jaw vise while you remove the master cylinder cap to attach short brake hoses through the outlet ports until reservoir ends touch fluid. To prevent the vehicle from draining out you should block the manual transmission master cylinder feed pipe. Depress the primary piston slowly while the brake fluid runs through the hoses first before removing the hoses to insert plugs on both outlet ports. The installation process ends by putting back the reservoir cap while installing the brake master cylinder into the vehicle. Always release outlet port plugs before connecting the lines.

Begin by removing it from the vehicle and cleaning its exterior.

Detach the brake master cylinder reservoir, followed by the removal of the seals and snap ring.

Disconnect the brake lines and plug both the lines and the brake master cylinder ports.

Take out the brake master cylinder.
