Fuel Rail

It is vital to follow safety guidelines when servicing the fuel rail because flammable mixtures are constantly present which means both smoking and using open flames are absolutely forbidden. A fuel system pressure relief step must be done before unconnecting fuel components because fuel pressure stays high even when the engine turns off. Start the process by detaching the battery ground cable followed by removing the upper intake manifold. To begin the process you should start by disconnecting the fuel line spring lock coupling while also placing the wiring harness to the side. Both right-hand fuel injector electrical connectors need removal before separating the wiring harness from the right-hand fuel supply manifold stud bolt. First detach the fuel pressure sensor vacuum hose along with its electrical connector before setting the wiring harness to the side to disconnect left-hand fuel injector electrical connectors and remove the harness from the left-hand fuel supply manifold stud bolt. Begin by removing the four fuel supply manifold securing bolts and remove the fuel injectors only if needed. Rewiring the installation demands the exact opposite steps of removal while installing new O-rings lubricated with clean engine oil to each fuel injector.

Remove the four studs and take out the fuel injection supply manifold and fuel injectors as an assembly.

Install the bolt and stud, connect the vacuum hose to the EVAP canister purge valve, and reconnect the vacuum hoses and electrical connector.

Tighten the bolts.

Remove the four bolts securing the fuel supply manifold and, if necessary, remove the fuel injectors.

Disconnect the battery ground cable and relieve the fuel pressure.
