The servicing process requires new O-ring seals for installing at every connection and disconnection point of rack and pinion lines. The first step should be to disconnect electrical power from the air suspension system because uncontrolled air spring activity could move the vehicle when you work on it. Use a suitable tool to maintain the wheel at its straight position. Keep the intermediate shaft stationary after disconnecting it from the rack and pinion since Clock Spring damage might occur when rotation takes place. Such cases require Clock Spring removal and recentering of its position. The intermediate shaft needs its gear attachment bolt removed while working within the engine area. First drain the tire-wheeled units from their assemblies but use the hex-holding component to stop stud rotation before removing tie-rod nuts from wheel knuckles. Use a suitable container to drain the fluid after the bolt removal disconnects the lines while you discard both O-ring seals. After disconnecting the electrical connector, users must remove the nuts and extract the rack and pinion studs together with the rack and pinion itself. The installation of the new rack and pinion begins by following the removal steps in reverse order while implementing new high-pressure hose O-ring seal and return hose O-ring seal. Complete a leak test on the system after filling it to the necessary level.
