Shift Knob

The first step in repairing shift knobs of vehicles that have a transmission control (TC) switch requires removal of the shift bezel trim ring. You need to raise the armrest first before removing the upper console panel. The shift knob bezel at the bottom should be slid down while you remove its two fixing screws. Any vehicle without a transmission control switch needs only the removal of the shift knob. The process to access the TC switch electrical connector requires releasing four tabs in vehicles that have this switch before setting aside the shift bezel. The first step includes disconnecting the TC switch electrical connector while threading the wiring harness through the shift bezel, then you can remove the shift knob and its bezel. The TC switch wiring harness must traverse through the shift bezel before connecting its electrical connector, which should have its four tabs properly secured. Position the shift knob, after which install the knob bezel while placing the screws accordingly. The technical procedure demands users to position the lower shift knob bezel into its slot before securing it into place, then reinstall the upper console panel with the shift bezel trim ring.
