To service the 2.3L and 3.0L shift knob, push the lower bezel down, loosen the screws and unscrew the knob. Install a new two-screw knob which is tightened to 2 Nm (18 lb-in), not to excessively tighten the screws.

In order to service the automatic transmission shifter, lift the vehicle with the transmission in neutral. Move the lower selector lever knob bezel down, loosen the bolt and loosen the knob. To install, loosen the knob, fix it with the bolt and position the bezel back in.
