The procedure to repair or service the automatic transmission shifter begins by removing the trim cover from the center console after lifting the armrest and implementing the parking brake function. Start by lifting the trim cover to release its position at the top followed by detaching the emergency brake lever from the boot before removing the trim cover. A suitable instrument should be used to move the shift knob shroud down following TC switch electric connector disconnection. Begin by removing the two shift knob screws before extracting the knob together with the shroud and placing them aside. Install the wiring harness into the shift knob bezel before setting the shift knob alongside its shroud onto the selector lever. Finally, secure the two screws at 2 Nm (18 inch lbs. torque). The installation process involves raising the shift knob shroud followed by reattaching the TC switch electrical connector and completing the sequence by placing back the center console trim cover.

Serving or repairing the automatic transmission shifter requires first removing the center console trim cover through lift removal of the armrest followed by application of the parking brake. First raise the trim cover vertically while you unlatch the emergency brake lever from its boot before taking out the cover. The Transmission Control Switch (TCS) electrical connector needs to be disconnected before using a suitable tool to move the shift knob shroud downward. Start by removing the shift knob screws and proceed with removing the knob as well as the shroud. When installing the components direct the wiring harness down the shift lever bezel before securing both the shift knob and shroud onto the shift lever. Fasten the knob using two screws which should be tightened to 2 Nm (18 lb-in). After raising the shift knob shroud users should reconnect the TCS electrical connector and replace the center console trim cover.
