How to Address Issues with the Shift Knob on a Ford Focus?

In order to fix the automatic transmission shifter, one needs to remove the center console trim cover and remove the emergency brake lever. Take out the knob, slide down the shroud of the shift knob and disconnect the TC switch. To install, run wiring, screw in knob, replace TC switch, install trim cover once again.

How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Shift Knob on Ford Mustang?

Removing the shift knob and selecting lever assembly will be required to repair the automatic transmission shifter. Disassemble transmission control switch connector. Plug it in again and make sure the wire fits. Tighten the screw of the knob with 3 Nm (27 inch lbs) and put the selector lever assembly back in the vehicle.
