Before beginning front wheel bearing and hub servicing start by placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL mode on a hoist. Brake disc removal along with retainers should be followed by placing the inner fender skirt aside. Before proceeding disabling the ABS sensor and removing the ABS wire from its retaining points. Exercise caution with the wheel hub and bearing since they do not fit into the wheel knuckle by refraining from using slide hammers or striking the wheel hub and bearing at the back to avoid causing damage. Use Penetrating and Lock Lubricant to apply oil to the wheel hub and bearing after performing any necessary cleaning of rust or corrosion from their rear surfaces. It is essential not to detach the ABS sensor from its hub position unless a new sensor is being added. Verify that the O-ring remains whole and change it if found faulty. Begin to remove the wheel hub-to-wheel knuckle bolts which will be discarded right away until you properly extract the wheel hub and bearing assembly. Drive the new bolts to a torque of 90 Nm which corresponds to 66 foot-lbs during installation. Dismount the wheel hub and bearing gently by hand inside a fully clean knuckle bore to achieve proper seating. You should apply High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant to the bearing carrier and wheel knuckle surfaces before following the removal method in reverse order for installation.

The repair process for front wheel hubs begins by selecting NEUTRAL drive position followed by placing the vehicle on a hoist. Service on the upper arm requires beginning with shock absorber and spring assembly removal. The hex holding feature should be used to stop the stud from turning during nut removal from ball joints and stabilizer bar links while following the removal order shown in illustrations and tables. The brake caliper should never hang from the hose during removal of pads and anchor plate since this could cause damage to the components. The method for upper arm-to-body nut removal requires discarding the nut and moving the power steering reservoir alongside disconnecting both the fluid level sensor connector and the brake master cylinder main pressure transducer electrical connector if the vehicle has this system. Access the master cylinder bolt by backing out the reservoir bolt then remove the two brake master cylinder nuts and place the brake master cylinder to the side. It is necessary to start lower arm-to-frame bolt removal by removing screws and pushpins and shield for access followed by removing bolts and nuts to set the steering gear aside before removing the lower arm bolt. Prior to installing the lower arm you should check and align the front end as needed. Install the lower arm-to-frame nuts and upper arm-to-body nuts only after reaching installation completion and making sure vehicle weight rests on wheel tires. Your installation of the wheel bearing hub assembly requires lubrication of bearing and knuckle mating surfaces with a thin coating of lubricant.

Begin by using the hex holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut from the ball joints and stabilizer bar links.

Check and align the front end, and do not tighten the upper arm-to-body nuts until the installation is complete and the vehicle's weight is on the wheel and tire assemblies.

Ensure the knuckle bore is clean to allow the wheel bearing and hub to seat properly by hand, avoiding any pressing or drawing into place.
